Even after a week, I still cannot believe I was lucky enough to be at this gig. I was gutted after tickets sold out for his Roundhouse gig because I didn't think he'd play another intimate venue in the U.K anytime soon. Thankfully I was wrong and a few weeks later found myself standing a few feet away from the Jigga Man himself. The anticipation within the crowd was incredible and when he finally took to the stage, the whole place erupted; a mass of blackberry's and digital cameras at the ready. Predictably, the majority of the setlist was made up of songs from new ablum 'The Blueprint 3', but the main big hits such as '99 Problems' and 'Big Pimpin' were obviously performed and a medley of songs Jay-z has featured in such as Beyonce's 'Crazy In Love' and T.I's 'Swagga Like Us' were thrown in for good measure.

Prior to the gig, there was so much speculation about who the special guests would be, with many rumours fuelled around Alicia Keys or Kanye West. Although I would've loved to have seen either of those, I secretly hoped it would be Mr Hudson because he's my current obsession. So you can imagine my delight when Jay-Z invited him to the stage to perform 'Forever More'. Then just as I thought the moment couldn't get any better, they announced that we were all going to be filmed for the music video of the new single. Amazing.

  3. Haha I know! Yeah i'm at university studying journalism, so I try to write music features as much as I can. Doing a few album reviews and a piece on music festivals at the moment.

I really like your blog! Is your job as cool as it sounds?
